My belief in the metaphysical

I was always a spiritual person and held a strong belief in the pre-existence of the soul. As a child, I questioned the meaning of religion and wondered: If, after death, we are sent to Heaven, to be kitted out with wings, a harp and halo, wouldn’t it be a very crowded place? Yet, if I had the chance to come back into another life, maybe I’d be richer, happier and able to eat all the candy my little mouth could hold. But then again, whose idea was it to set me down in my present life? Fractured and fraught with insecurity, poverty and abuse, surely I had no hand in its choice?

As I grew older, I also grew increasingly determined to answer the questions of my youth. I read anything I could about the metaphysical and especially about reincarnation. But not until I suffered a mysterious illness in 1987 did I truly understand the impact and purpose of my quest…
 
I’m an original member of the Nanaimo Metaphysical Network run by two wonderful people, William and Judith Munns, who are part of the Edgar Cayce Association for Research and Enlightenment. The membership of the NMN is now over 700 strong and its purpose is to inform, share, and develop a sense of community on Vancouver Island with people who are open to exploring varieties of spiritual and metaphysical experience and the nature of the mind. Every first and third Thursday of the month, speakers are brought in to talk about  UFO’s, mediumship, reincarnation, NDE’s (Near Death Experiences), Indigenous teachings, Indigo children, psychic phenomena, Atlantis, hypnotherapy, channeling… the list goes on. I am blessed to be affiliated with  such a warm, supportive group of people who share an ongoing, constant desire to learn by opening themselves to  and acknowledging experiences far beyond the five senses.

My belief in spiritual and metaphysical experience manifests itself in many ways, among them Listener Channelling , from which many of my poems and stories have come.
